Registration Phase in İzmir

Within the Turkish component of the OliVR Project, the team led by Project Coordinator Agricultural Engineer Kıvanç Özkan, in collaboration with the International Agricultural Training Directorate and Hacettepe University, successfully conducted the materialacquisition process in Torbalı district of İzmir Province between 8–11 January 2026. This effort was undertaken to facilitate the three-dimensional transfer of visual and video data intothe Virtual Reality (VR) system. During the fieldwork, the indigenous olive cultivars Memecik, Gemlik, and Domat were systematically examined. Subsequently, ten representative trees were selected by the experts, documented comprehensively through video and photographic records, and deemed appropriate for incorporation into both theinstructional curriculum and the VR environment.
